Steps to reproduce
I started with two canonical fandoms (Veronica Mars (TV) and Dead Like Me) and two canonical characters in one of those fandoms (Logan Echolls and Duncan Kane), but it’s possible it doesn’t matter how the tags are wrangled or if they exist.
Create a tag set that allows character and fandom nominations
Browse > Tags > Tag Sets > New Tag Set
Enter a Title
Check “Currently taking nominations?”
For Nominations Limits, set fandoms to 4 and characters to 3 (so you can have some wiggle room if you mess up)
Submit
Nominate a character in a fandom
Nominate
For Fandom 1, enter Veronica Mars (TV)
For the first character in Fandom 1, enter Logan Echolls
Submit
Edit your nomination to nominate the character in a different fandom
Edit
Use the × to remove Logan Echolls from under Veronica Mars (TV)
In Fandom 2, enter Dead Like Me
For the first character in Fandom 2, enter Logan Echolls
Submit
You’ll get an error saying, “Someone else has already nominated the tag Logan Echolls for this set but in fandom Veronica Mars (TV). (All nominations have to be unique for the approval process to work.) Try making your nomination more specific, for instance tacking on (Dead Like Me).”
Frown a bit
Use the × to remove Logan Echolls from under Dead Like Me
Enter Duncan Kane in his place
Submit
What happens
Both fandoms are still nominated (correct) and Duncan Kane is nominated as a character under Dead Like Me (also correct). However, under Veronica Mars (TV), there is a blank spot where a character should be (refer to image).
What should happen
There should be no blank character under Veronica Mars (TV).
Ideally, I should even be able to move my Logan Echolls nomination to Dead Like Me without getting an error.
